Visiting with Santa at the Ward Christmas Party.
Kamrie pretty much looked this thrilled last year too. I'm determined to get this baby to smile.
Short story: Nothing related to this picture with Santa but, it's about Kamrie.
Yesterday my friend Cara watched Kamrie for a few hours for me. Cara has twin girls about 2 years old. I took a short break for 10 minutes from what I was doing and ran over there to check on her. Within that 10 minutes Kamrie had been playing with a toy and one of the other babies tried to take the toy from her, Kamrie basically bullied her by head butting her like a hammer head dinosaur. So, the one baby is crying, then the other baby walks up to Kamrie does the same thing and runs away from her. And Kamrie's eyes dropped to scowling position. I knew what she was going to do but, I couldn't get up fast enough because I was sore from working out. She chased the other baby across the room and head butted her too right on the noggin. So here we have both twins crying and there's Kamrie, she rolled her eyes and went back to playing the game. I couldn't believe my eyes! Wait......yes, I could- that is one of her and her daddy's favorite games. But, I never thought it would turn into a defense mechanism.
Any pointers on how I can help her understand that she hurts people. When she wants something and she taps us. It's more like she punches us- it actually hurts sometimes.
We've tried saying "nice and soft" while taking her hand and petting us. And we've tried the 'pain' look. And she knows what nice is but, she likes to be rough. Maybe I should get her some boxing gloves for Christmas so she can play with Chad and his punching bag out in the garage. Kids!!!
